LIBERAL Brisbane City Council mayoral wannabe Gail Austin was the star turn at a bayside Brighton protest meeting at the weekend, supporting locals who were complaining about a plan to erect a mobile phone tower in a paddock west of the Deagon deviation.

As Austin lashed out at the towering terrors, her mobile phone rang.
