Q. What is Cable & Wireless Optus' commitment to the community?
A. Cable & Wireless Optus takes special care when selecting sites for new mobile base stations and, in most cases, does so in consultation with the relivant local councils. In certain circumstances we also seek the input from the local community. We understand that some members of the public are concerned about the possible future health of using mobile phones and living near mobile base stations. With this in mind, we will meet or better the relivant safety standards for building and operating a mobile phone network.
